In this workshop florist Gretel Cooper will talk about her own sustainable approach to floristry with reference to the pioneering work of Constance Spry. The session will combine a talk, demonstration and ’makealong’. It is suitable for anyone who would like to have a try simple flower arranging, no previous experience is required.

Gretel will examine Spry’s unconventional approach to arranging flowers, fruit and vegetables and whatever is in season. Spry was a powerhouse of creativity, building a hugely successful flower business, providing floral displays for royalty and the very smartest parties.

Gretel will give a little background to Spry’s unconventional life and by way of celebrating the Spry style demonstrate how to make a floral arrangement , using flowers and foraged items from her allotment at Boundary Way.

The workshop costs just £3 (+booking fee) and places must be reserved via Eventbrite. Participants will receive a link to join the event via Zoom the day before the event.
