When the Future Comes is a series of artists’ interventions each witnessed by a mysterious and mystical device – the Future Machine. Newly formed rituals or special occasions are emerging as the Future Machine appears in Oxfordshire, Nottingham, Cumbria, Somerset and London every year – for the next 30 years.
The artists Rachel Jacobs and Caroline Locke had a two day visit to Cannington in Somerset in July, to meet with Cannington Primary School, Cannington Church and Parish Council, ready for the Future Machine to visit in 2022: https://www.whenthefuturecomes.net/somerset-hub/
The Future Machine will be appearing next by the River Leven, Cumbria to celebrate the harvest on the Windermere watershed in October and in Finsbury Park, London when the Autumn leaves fall in November.
All the events will be documented online. The Finsbury Park event will be open to the public if Covid Restrictions allow.
