An Outdoor Exhibition on The Worthing Seafront Promenade
Anne Krinsky: Wetlands / Shifting Shorelines
Anne Krinsky: Wetlands / Shifting Shorelines is a print exhibition inspired by vulnerable South Coast wetlands the artist photographed in 2020 and 2021. She worked with projection, photography and digital print to design this striking series of prints on dibond aluminium panels. It is part of her larger project about fragile wetlands and climate change. For this exhibition, Anne Krinsky explored wetlands on the South Coast, including Lymington and Keyhaven in The North Solent and Chichester, Pagham and Portsmouth Harbours.
The artist says, “I wanted to share my passion for coastal wetlands before they vanish. These tidal habitats are threatened by rising sea levels and pollution. It’s heartbreaking to see the overgrowth of algae – resulting from agricultural runoff and dumping of sewage – that is engulfing South Coast wetlands. I am inspired by scientists and community groups working to protect and restore coastal ecosystems and wanted to bring attention to some of their work. As part of the exhibition, I have included information panels about Bird Aware Solent, the Solent Oyster Restoration Project and the Sussex Kelp Restoration Project.”
The exhibition is supported by Worthing Borough Council, Metro Imaging and a bursary from a-n The Artists Information Company.
